Taiwan has recently faced a severe surge in fraudulent calls, a significant portion of which involve scam syndicates utilizing international call routing to spoof domestic mobile numbers as "+886 9" international calls. This technical manipulation makes it extremely difficult for the public to distinguish between genuine and fake calls, leading to increased susceptibility to scams.

To address this issue, Taiwan Mobile has become the first telecom operator to launch a service to "Block Spoofed +886 9 International Calls," protecting users from the harassment of fraudulent calls.

Taiwan Mobile has introduced a series of anti-fraud measures to ensure users remain vigilant and safe when encountering scam calls. A key measure is the blocking of spoofed +886 9 international calls. When a user receives a suspected spoofed +886 9 international call, Taiwan Mobile's system automatically intercepts it, preventing the user from ever answering the scam. This measure effectively reduces the nuisance scam calls cause the public.

In addition to the blocking feature, Taiwan Mobile provides a voice warning service. When a user receives a call that resembles a spoofed international number, the system first plays a warning message to alert the user. This allows users to more comprehensively evaluate potential fraud risks when answering calls from unknown sources, thereby increasing user self-protection awareness.

According to the "2023 Consumer Privacy Survey" released by technology provider Cisco, young consumers in the Asia-Pacific region are more concerned about protecting personal privacy than older generations. The Cisco survey shows that 51% of respondents aged 18 to 24 in the Asia-Pacific region have exercised their data subject access rights, whereas only 11% of respondents aged 55 to 64 have done so. This indicates that younger consumers place a higher value on their privacy rights.

While most respondents in the Asia-Pacific region believe AI can improve their lives, they are concerned about how companies utilize their personal data for AI. In fact, 59% of Asia-Pacific respondents have lost confidence in companies due to their use of AI. Dev Stahlkopf, Cisco Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, emphasized that companies should respect privacy and human rights whenever utilizing anything related to AI.

Today, the development of AI has profoundly impacted numerous fields, with Natural Language Processing (NLP) attracting significant attention for its outstanding performance in processing text data. Large Language Models (such as GPT-3) can generate dreamlike linguistic expressions and even mimic human communication styles by learning from massive datasets. However, it is precisely this powerful capability that led Craig Jones, Vice President of Security Operations at AI service provider Ontinue, to issue a warning.

When interacting with Large Language Models, users often need to input sensitive information, such as personal privacy details or business secrets. However, without the protection of a sufficient data processing framework, this sensitive information may be inadvertently exposed, leading to serious security risks and consequences. Therefore, to ensure the security of user information, enterprises using these tools must prioritize the construction and improvement of data processing frameworks.

To prevent the leakage of sensitive user information, Craig Jones emphasized two key points. First, enterprises must strictly evaluate the data handling practices of employees when they use Large Language Models. This includes how input user data is processed and how sensitive information is stored and transmitted. Only through detailed regulations and processes can security vulnerabilities and privacy leaks be minimized. Second, regular reviews and updates of practices are essential. Due to the constant evolution of the technical environment and threats, enterprises must stay attuned to the latest security standards and best practices to ensure the effectiveness and adaptability of their data processing frameworks.

In conclusion, while Large Language Models bring much innovation and convenience, they also present new challenges to data security. When using these tools, enterprises must be aware of potential risks and take necessary measures to protect the security of sensitive user information. Only through robust data processing frameworks, strict evaluations, and regular reviews can the safe use of Large Language Models be ensured.
