Brazilian product conformity is administered by INMETRO under product-specific regulations and schemes. Whether certification is mandatory or voluntary depends on the applicable INMETRO Ordinance. The required testing, document review, and—where applicable—factory assessment must be completed before the conformity identification mark may be used. The legacy site called this service the “voluntary S mark”; before application, the product HS code, intended use, ratings, and current regulated-product list should be reviewed to select the correct scheme.
