Korea's current electrical appliance safety certification (KC certification) consists of two parts: KC safety certification and MSIP electromagnetic compatibility certification. For any product involving electromagnetic compatibility, the new rules require the same test content but two certificates must be applied for at the same time. In addition, the KC certification number and the MSIP identification code must both be indicated beneath the KC mark on the product label. KC (Korea Certification), formerly known as EK certification, is Korea's safety certification scheme for electrical and electronic products—the KC Mark certification. It is a mandatory certification and requires an initial factory inspection.
