The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) was established with the approval of the Thai Cabinet to serve as the national standards legislative body, promulgating and revising the relevant laws and regulations. TISI is an institution created in response to the needs of the Thai government, businesses, and society, dedicated to standardization and internationalization with the aim of strengthening competitiveness. Its policy is to promote standardization in the industrial sector and advance industrial development and progress, maximizing the interests of enterprises, consumers, and the nation. TISI is empowered to certify products against the established Thai standards. The Thai government requires mandatory certification for 60 products across 10 industries, including agriculture, building materials, consumer goods, electrical appliances and accessories, PVC pipes, medical devices, LPG gas containers, surface coatings, and vehicles.
