SNI certification was developed in accordance with the WTO principles of openness, transparency, fairness, and cooperative development, protecting consumer interests and promoting industrial progress. Among Indonesia's national SNI standards, 90% are voluntary and 10% are mandatory. Fields in which Indonesia's standards are relatively advanced include agricultural product standards (such as subtropical fruit cultivation techniques), cash-crop standards (rubber), and petroleum and natural gas product standards. All regulated products exported to Indonesia must bear the SNI certification marking; otherwise they cannot enter the Indonesian market. It is a mandatory certification mark.
